TRAIL by Mandy Williams Launches in Lagos With an Experience-First Take on Premium Scent

The sibling-founded fragrance brand enters the market on 20 June with a curated selection of designer, niche and Middle Eastern perfumes and a philosophy built around presence.

LAGOS, Nigeria — On 20 June 2026, TRAIL by Mandy Williams will open its doors to the Lagos fragrance market with a premise that is at once simple and considered: that scent is not something you wear, but something you leave behind.

Founded by Lagos-based siblings Mandy and Williams Uzoagba, TRAIL enters the market as a premium fragrance destination curating and presenting luxury and niche scents from established international designer, niche and Middle Eastern houses in accessible formats. Its curation is guided by a single standard: richness, longevity and craft. The brand’s philosophy is equally deliberate. Fragrance, in TRAIL’s framing, is not a product. It is a personal signature, the trace of presence that lingers in a room long after you have left it.

“We didn’t want to just sell perfume,” said Mandy Uzoagba, co-founder. “We wanted to build an experience, something you feel before you can name it. TRAIL is the beginning of that.”

The brand’s visual identity reflects that ambition. A palette of deep aubergine, cream, charcoal and saffron-gold runs through its packaging and presentation, anchoring an aesthetic that is positioned firmly at the premium end of the market. Candles, body oils and accessories are planned as subsequent chapters as the brand expands its sensory offer.

The timing is considered. Nigeria’s premium lifestyle consumer has matured considerably over the past five years, with appetite for niche fragrance growing alongside a broader cultural shift toward intentional, identity-driven consumption. The Lagos consumer who once imported their scents quietly is increasingly looking for a local brand that meets them at their level of knowledge and speaks their language back to them. TRAIL is making a credible opening move in that space.

Whether an experience-first philosophy can sustain a brand with genuine longevity remains the more interesting question. The most durable path for TRAIL  and for the category it is helping to shape in West Africa  likely runs through original product eventually. For now, the brand is arriving with a clear point of view, a considered aesthetic and a consumer that is ready for exactly this conversation.
